Catering for those in mainstream schools as well as those Educated Other than at School, Home Educated and Adult Learners. Small daytime groups available for Home educated students in Maths English and Science available.
Su Bowie set up Easy As Pi Maths Tuition when she left mainstream education after 12 years as a maths teacher.
She started tutoring full-time in January 2021 and have taught such a rich variety of students, including apprentice engineers, students not accessing mainstream education for mental health reasons, home educated students, adult learners, led schools revision sessions and, of course, lots of Year 10s and 11s!
Su loves teaching maths and being her own boss allows her to do this how I think it should be done.
She is based in beautiful Cornwall. When she moved here from Great Yarmouth in 2005, she completed a four-year Maths & Statistics Degree at the University of Plymouth, specialising in Applied Statistics. She then went onto study for her Mathematics PGCE, for which she gained an outstanding grade.
Su Bowie is a Corporate Member of The Tutors’ Association.
She was then very lucky to do her NQT and training at The Roseland Academy in Truro where she stayed for six years.
Su has taken real pride in teaching students who do not find maths easy, and that is where her strengths lie.
On a personal note, She has four children, now all grown up, and five grandchildren. Su love spending time with them and enjoying the beautiful area we live in.
